Kaleifornia Dreamin’

I’M BACK! I know, I know, how rude of me to simply disappear without a word and return as if nothing changed. I apologize, but life has not been too exciting lately. However, I am determined to get back to creating more content whether it will be about my city adventures, food, or personal thoughts.

I recently went out with Regina this past weekend. She wanted to visit the “Made in LA” sign on Melrose and thank goodness it was not crowded when we arrived around 11:00 AM. However, after a few minutes of taking pictures, a crowd of tourists came storming in. They were super nice, though. We helped them take some group pictures and they did the same for us 🙂 Our pictures are below my food review of by CHLOE. hehehe.

Whoever does not believe that vegan food can be delicious, has not met Chloe. We had lunch at by CHLOE, after weeks of having this place bookmarked on my Yelp account. I wanted to see what all the hype was about, besides their A+ marketing skills. By CHLOE originated from New York City, as with every new restaurant that is coming into LA. It has captured a great amount of attention with its modern and hip design. It transforms the image of veganism and captivates millennials with its aesthetics and unique tastes. We both ordered the Guac Burger with a side of the Mac n’ Cheese and Air Baked Sweet Potato Fries to share. Let me just say that it exceeded ALL my expectations. I wish this place existed when I was a vegan. Maybe I would have stuck through with the lifestyle. JK. 😛 They offer chipotle aioli sauce and beet “ketchup” on the side, which is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Both sauces were good dipping condiments for our fries, but the chipotle aioli was also a great complement to our Guac Burger. I was drowning my burger in this sauce. You have to try it. The beet sauce was interesting- it is definitely a lighter alternative to ketchup but just as good. I am certainly coming back here.

Such a cute menu!

Mac N’ Cheese which we both thought was just okay because it was a bit bland.

My Guac Burger. I miss you 😥

The Guac Burger is made with black bean-quinoa-sweet potato patty, corn salsa, onion, guac, tortilla strips, chipotle aioli, and whole grain bun. Let me add that the “meat” patty is amazing. It wasn’t too dry or bland and it tastes superb with the chipotle aioli sauce. There was also a good amount of gauc in the burger even though you can never have too much guac. Regina and I both enjoyed the whole grain bun. It didn’t do too well in keeping the burger in place but it was chewy yet soft. I’m not really sure how to describe a bun, but trust me when I say it’s good.

The employees were super nice and welcoming! 5/5 for yall
The restaurant is connected to 365 Whole Foods Market.

To end this blog post, I hope everyone has been doing well. There are times in my life when I feel unmotivated and it is a difficult feeling to overcome. But, I am encouraged when I am surrounded by positive and inspiring individuals. I hope you surround yourself with positivity even if it comes from a book, video, or article. Do not sell yourself short and keep going. It is always easier said than done, but it does help when there is someone or something motivating you. We are all human with our own personal struggles and it is important to focus on the present. Good things take time. These are the few things that I constantly remind myself of. Have a good week 🙂
