Tuesday afternoon

Hello fellow readers and friends! I’ve got updates! 🙂

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend because I sure did. Although I didn’t have any extravagant or exciting plans for the 4th of July, I enjoyed it at home nonetheless. I was supposed to work on Friday at the ER at 3 PM  but I decided to get my shift covered in order to focus on my homework and personal statement. Oh, I’m currently taking an online sociology class BTW! This is my first time taking an online class. In the beginning, I was confused on how to navigate the online system, but I am glad to say that I’m finally accustomed to it. Well, it’s the 4th week of class for me so I better be accustomed to it, right? I’m really enjoying the class for the most part, mainly because many of the topics that we’re covering consistently relates to the ongoing issues of our society today. Also, it has made me more aware of my role in the community and society as a whole.

I had work on Sunday at the ER with one of my favorite docs, Papa Potts! His son is also an ER doctor at the same hospital so many of us call him Papa Potts. He had a list of “things to do after retirement” and one of them was to learn how to use an iPhone. I thought it was so awesome because there are so many things he wants to learn after retirement and his age ain’t stopping him! He’s going to be 70 soon and he is definitely not afraid to admit it. He is one healthy and active man! To be honest, I have to occasionally keep up with him because he walks and runs around the ER like an energizer bunny.. 🙂

On the morning of July 4th, I went to eat dim sum with my papa. Not surprisingly, there was a ridiculous amount of people! We usually go to Atlantic Seafood & Dim Sum Restaurant because personally, they have the best baked pineapple bun with custard filling (aka: lao sao bao). We ordered many of the dishes that I usually get but unfortunately, I was unable to get the egg tarts which is another one of my favorites 😦 I stayed at home for the rest of the day to work on my personal statement and sociology homework. I was a bit bummed that I didn’t have any exciting plans but I didn’t really mind either because I usually enjoy spending time at home rejuvenating after a weeks worth of work.

I had Tuesday off since the doctor I work with in MPK was on vacation. I spent my morning working on the same things (soc. and apps). I met up with Nathan after and he took some OOTDs for me! I occasionally walk around my neighborhood to get a light workout and would always come across this apartment building with a flower-filled wall. I always wanted to use it as a backdrop to take photos and luckily, I finally got the chance to! I was quite satisfied if you couldn’t tell. Recently, I’ve been really appreciating slacks and trousers. I find them extremely comfortable and versatile. I suppose I wouldn’t mind working an office job where I was required to dress business casual everyday. I find that one of the perks of working in the healthcare field is being able to wear scrubs. While they aren’t the most fashionable attire in the workplace, it is definitely comfortable. When I’m working long or vigorous hours, comfort is certainly my main concern.

Our plan was to get Crepe Love but we found out that they’re closed on Tuesdays, right after we arrived at the store front… I was so sad! I should’ve known or checked beforehand because this is not the first time that it has happened to me 😦 We decided to go next door to get Yogurtland instead, which sufficed for the most part. We ended our day watching mukbangs on youtube. This is also a new thing that I’ve been guiltily interested in. I find myself fast forwarding through each video, but I still continue to watch multiple ones right after. There is something satisfying about watching people cook and eat large amounts of food. Call me weird, but it’s a popular phenomenon! My current favorite mukbang youtuber is Yuka Kinoshita. It’s astonishing how much this girl can eat and she never fails to stay thin. I love her radiant personality and her clean editing skills, which are the few reasons that keep me captivated by her videos. Anyways, that’s all the updates I have for now. Till next week, loves!
