O Canada!

I had the chance to visit Canada last July, courtesy of one my best girlfriends. Jacklyn bought me a flight to Canada for my birthday/graduation gift and I am forever grateful for that. It was one of the most memorable experiences that I would relive over and over again. I can’t express how incredibly beautiful Canada is. I was overwhelmed with its effortless beauty every second that I was there. All the pictures below were taken with my iPhone 5s, and I feel like these pictures don’t even do it justice. I can confirm that the air is fresher, the water is cleaner, and the people are nicer. I’d like to say that Canada definitely does it better. Above is an overview of our trip which Jacklyn created. She made a whole PDF itinerary contained with restaurants to eat at in the city and essential places to visit within each national park. She even added a list of campsite meals with each individual recipe. This girl seriously goes all out with her itineraries. If anyone is interested in visiting Canada, I can send you the itinerary with her permission!

We started our trip in Calgary, Alberta and rented a car the instant we arrived. After a night in Calgary, we left for Banff National Park the next day. We camped a total of 4 nights from Banff National Park to Jasper National Park. I appreciated Jacklyn and Zach for being so prepared for the trip because they bought all the essential camping materials and gears. This was my first time camping and I really enjoyed it for the most part, but I think the 4 nights were a bit too much for me. Nonetheless, it was definitely a great experience! We ended our trip in Vancouver, British Columbia which I would undoubtedly visit again.

My favorite feeling was having the freedom of driving anywhere within the national park and stopping on the roadside whenever and wherever we wanted to, simply to absorb the vast amount of beauty around us. I love hiking on a trail and exploring different areas without any restrictions or care in the world. There were a few trails that were blocked off, but we went against the rules and trekked through it anyways. I have to admit that it was quite dangerous, but it was so exhilarating. It’s difficult to express and describe my love for the great outdoors. When I’m surrounded by massive mountains and a cathedral of trees, I feel as if my problems are minute and meaningless. I realize that nothing is as great and powerful as nature is.

I encountered many new experiences within the 8 days I was in Canada and I would relive those moments all over again. I am so thankful to have received the opportunity to explore Canada, all thanks to Jacklyn. You are one of the most adventurous, selfless and caring people that I know. We’ve been friends since elementary school and I can recall all the ridiculous and hilarious moments we ever had together. Thanks for always being so thoughtful. It’s the little things that count and you’ve done it all. You seriously brighten up my life with your outgoing, daring and adventurous personality. I’ve seen and experienced so many things in life, in which I wouldn’t have if I hadn’t met you. Thanks for everything, love! I look forward to many more adventures with you in the future!
